Capital 4 Impact Foundation is the philanthropic engine behind the Capital 4 Impact structure.
Established by PlanBørnefonden in March 2024, the Foundation is an independent charitable foundation with the purpose of improving the lives of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children and young people. Starting with the individual child, their family and their local community, our work focuses on health, education and income generating activities with the goal of creating lasting improvements in living conditions for children and young people across the world.
What we do
Through our wholly owned fund manager, Capital 4 Impact Management (C4IM), we make social impact investments including loans and equity investments that on a charitable basis supplement the global programme and development work carried out by Plan International. Our investments are designed to support and strengthen the work already being done on the ground, not replace it.
What makes us different
Our foundation is built on a deep strategic partnership with PlanBørnefonden and Plan International, one of the world’s largest children’s organisations operating in over 80 countries. This gives us unparalleled access to on the ground market knowledge, local presence and a strong investment pipeline built on decades of development experience.
This partnership enables our unique hybrid structure. By blending philanthropic capital with commercial investment, we can offer private investors access to high impact investments with market conform, risk adjusted financial returns while staying true to our charitable mission.
Our structure
The Foundation owns Capital 4 Impact Management (C4IM), a licensed Alternative Investment Fund Manager registered with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority. C4IM designs and manages the funds. The Foundation provides the mission, the mandate and the philanthropic anchor that makes the blending possible.
